Oil and white wash on canvas, the vertical composition portraying a middle-aged mendicant in grey monochrome (grisaille), clutching onto his wooden walking stick and carrying on his shoulders a bulky bag, probably all his possessions, his hat of triangular shape and the top enhanced by a string with two tassels, in the background a distant village, signed on the lower right corner, mounted and stretched, 67.2cm x 45.3cm.
