AN UNUSUAL LATE 18TH CENTURY AND LATER LONGCASE CLOCK, the movement and elements of the dial late 18th century English, the case mid-19th century French, the brass mounted mahogany and quarter banded kingwood veneered case with glazed fold out trunk door, the cut down engraved brass circular dial with later silvered chapter, black Roman numerals and Arabic five minute markers, the central of the dial with scrolling decoration and scene of a pagoda, signed 'Edward Samm, Linton', the single train month going timepiece movement with single brass weight, pendulum and winder, 169cm high

Edward Samm is recording as working in Linton, near Cambridge, circa 1770, Watchmakers & Clockmakers of the World Volume 2 by Brian Loomes
