AN EXTREMELY FINE PART SILK ISFAHAN RUG, CENTRAL PERSIA approx: 5ft.4in. x 3ft.7in.(163cm. x 109cm.) The field depicting multicoloured human figures, arabesque and fruit vases together with birds and flowering trees. in an apricot arabesque border with shaped floral and perching birds cartouches between arabesque and plain stripes. This rug has full pile with very good wool quality and part silk. Design is very well drawn. Both selvages and ends are original. Extremely fine weave, approx: 10 x 10 knots per sq. cm; woven on silk foundation. In general this rug is in an excellent condition throughout.
