A PAIR OF CHINESE CINNABAR LACQUER POURING VESSELS, YI.
Ming Dynasty, 15th Century.
Of rounded elongated form supported on an oval foot, with a curved rim forming the spout on one side opposite a lion mask projecting a hoop handle, carved through the layers of cinnabar lacquer with a continuous scene of three coiled dragons, a key-fret band incised below the rim, the interior and base lacquered black, 12cm long.
