Ming Dynasty, 15th Century.
Of square section with chamfered corners, the cover carved with a solitary figure wrapped in long flowing windswept robes, among long grasses also bent in the wind and standing beneath a full moon, the sides carved with varying floral blooms borne on leafy branches, the interior and base lacquered black, all supported on four short feet, 9cm H. (4)
