Refined refreshments - The Mayor invites and our MP donates

Visit the Mayor at Hounslow House, and take home a bottle of House of Commons Whisky signed by the speaker; for up to eight.

Tony Louki, Mayor of Hounslow, is generously inviting the highest bidder to join him in the Civic Suite in the recently completed Hounslow House, home of local government, by choosing one of the following two options:

Either: join him for afternoon tea for eight in his mayoral parlour, regaled with sandwiches and scones, following a tour of the Mayor’s office where you will learn how the day-to-day operations of the Council. This special opportunity is geared towards children accompanied by their parents or carers. Half-day in total.

Or: join him for an evening reception for eight in his mayoral parlour, where you will be served drinks and canapes following a lecture or discussion with a presentation by Tony.

Elected Mayor of Hounslow Council in 2019, Tony has been praised for his green credentials. Prior to becoming Mayor, Tony was a long serving councillor, first nominated to represent Isleworth North in 1990 and 1994 and subsequently re-elected in Osterly and Spring Grove in 2014 and 2018.

Of Chiswick House he says: I have always liked the place, even more so since becoming one of the Hounslow Borough Councillor Trustees in 2018; we have plans. Impresses by the new leadership, our hardworking staff, hands on fellow trustees and the superb Friends. This Covid has scuppered a fair bit for loads of folk but I am proud that everyone here has managed to keep the grounds open for the maintenance of everyone's wellbeing. I'm most touched by how so many people have rallied these past six months and happy to play a part with the Mayor's humble but unique auction lot.

Tony's invitation is accompanied by a bottle of House of Commons Whisky signed by the Speaker, Sir Lindsay Hoyle and kindly donated by Ruth Cadbury, MP for Brentford and Isleworth.

Ruth writes: It's been wonderful to see how Chiswick House and Gardens has been transformed since the Trust was established, both as a great community space, and as a historical landscape. At this difficult time the Staff, Trustees, Volunteers and Friends have combined to do a very special job and I am so happy to support them in this Auction.

Donated by Tony Louki and Ruth Cadbury.
