A HAMADAN LONG RUG, WEST PERSIA

The deep indigo field with overall design of large muticoloured shaped palmettes, stepped panels and angular floral vine. In shaded rust-red border of scrolling hooked vine and checkered lozenges between light blue and soft green angular flowering vine and linked lozenge stripes. Outer plain stripe, approx: 8ft.3in. x 3ft.4in.(251cm. x 102cm.) Very good overall design and well balanced colours. Apart of very slight wear to the top pile in small places, this rug has good pile. Both ends with original kilims. Selvages rebound, touches of fraying on the cord wool in small palces. In general This piece is in very good usable condition. Very good furnishing rug.
