A FINE QASHQAI CARPET, SOUTH-WEST PERSIA

The light blue field with columns of hooked and floral large panels surrounded by small floral motifs. In rust red border of serrated stellar flowerhead panels, together with hooked bars, between floral meandre, barber-pole and arrowhead stripes. of 300cm x 208cm. Very good example for this type with niceely drawn design and very well balanced colours. This rug has very good pile of very soft and lustrous wool. Salvages original, touches of fraying in one place Ends with short fringes, slightly fraying to the guart stripe. In general this rug is in very good usable condition. Ends should attended to prevent further loss. Woven on wool foundation. Very attractive and good furnishing piece
