AN EXTREMELY FINE PART SILK ISFAHAN RUG, CENTRAL PERSIA approx: 5ft.4in. x 3ft.6in.(163cm. x 107cm.) The field with stylised flowering trees, plants, stylised vase and perching birds. In light blue border of palmettes, fleur-de-Lys, floral sprays and birds between arabesques and plain stripes. This rug has full pile, fine kurk wool quality and is in an excellent condition throughout. Both ends and selvages original. Extremely fine weave, approx: 10 x 10 knots per sq. cm; woven on silk foundation. Very elegant piece.
