A CHINESE COROMANDEL LACQUER 'WARRIORS' PANEL.

Qing Dynasty, Kangxi period.

Carved and infilled with colour to depict five warriors on horseback beside a young boy holding flag in front of mountains in the background, within a frame painted in gilt, 112 x 63cm. (2)

Provenance: the collection of L. Magnus Austin, Poole, Dorset, together with a letter to the aforementioned dated 3 October 1960 from JF Hayward on V&A headed paper, confirming the above dating of the piece.
