AFTER SIR EDWIN LUTYENS: A Cabinet on Stand made by Lutyens Furniture, late 20th/early 21st century, ebonized wood, gilded and glazed, the top created after an original design by Lutyens for a hanging display cabinet, the cavetto cornice above arched panel doors with hinged sides and enclosing a painted ochre interior incorporating shelves, the complimentary base later designed by Lutyens Furniture with X-stretchers and faceted octagonal feet Height 215cm x width 185cm x depth 36cm The original cabinet was commissioned by Lord Revelstoke during Lutyens' re-modelling of Lambay Castle near Dublin, 1905-1908. That cabinet was sold by Bonhams Scotland, Design 1860 to the Present Day, October 15th 2008, lot 246. Provenance: The private collection of the Lutyens family.
