Letter signed ('Demidov'), written in French in secretarial hand, addressed to Monsieur Gustave de Lerch in St. Petersburg, introducing to the recipient Jacques Sacerdoti, who is travelling to Russia as agent of the "Maison Fermi de Florence" to sort out some troubles occurred to M.me Vsevolozhsky and involving a large sum, one page, embossed seal of San Donato, folding marks, light creasing, 4to, Montecatini, 7 June 1853.

***Count Pavel Pavlovich Demidov, 2nd Prince of San Donato was a Russian industrialist, jurist, philanthropist and nobleman of the Demidov family. Owning hundreds of factories in Russia, millions of square kilometres of land and palaces in Russia, France and Italy, Pavel was considered as one of the richest men in Europe.
