A HAMSEH RUG, SOUTH-WEST PERSIA approx: 6ft.8in. x 5ft.3in.(204cm. x 160cm.) The field with rows of birds, rosettes and occasional animal figure around three hooked and linked lozenge medallions, each containing stylised hooked palmette centrepiece. In stylised birds and glass motif border between flowering vine, zig-zag and running-dog stripes. This rug has localized wear on the field. selvages original, partly rebound, well done. One end with original kilim. in general this rug is in good usable condition.  Classic example for tribal weave for this type.
