λ A MOTHER-OF-PEARL-INLAID OLIVE WOOD CROSS

Of typical shape, the wooden cross clad in carved and pierced mother-of-pearl tesserae with scrolling vine trellis and leaves, at the top a plaque with the inscription INRI, resting on stepped square base decorated with a seven-pointed star, the back of the cross marked Jerusalem in black and decorated with small mother-of-pearl roundels inscribed in black characters, 28cm x 11.5cm.
